Chantix - Something Different for Smoking Cessation

Chantix is a medication designed to help people quit smoking. It is manufactured by Pfizer, one of the top drug manufacturers, under this brand name. Its generic name is varenicline and it is a new form of medication that works quite differently than any other smoking cessation product on the market. The FDA has said it is very optimistic about the possibilities this drug has for helping greater numbers of people stop smoking.

What Is Chantix?

Chanitix is available by prescription only. It is different from other products on the market because it works to specifically stop nicotine addiction in the brain. Like other products, though, counseling or some form of support is recommended in addition to taking this medication. Any drug regardless of how good it is will produce some withdrawal symptoms and this is where support from friends, family and co-workers comes in. find a support group before you start taking the drug and watch out for any side effects.

VareniclineThe main drug in Chantix, varenicline, has been shown in studies to act directly in the brain to block the nicotine receptors that allow a person to become addicted to nicotine. This drug is what makes Chantix so different and is why it is showing much promise in the fight to help people quit smoking for good.
