Can I Quit Smoking Without Cravings?

If there was a medication, therapy or gadget to make you quit smoking without cravings, you would know about it for sure. It would have been all over the media and the creator would probably be buried under awards by now. If you find a product or therapy that promises it can make you stop smoking without cravings, don’t believe it.
Bad News? Not at all!
It's difficult to stop smoking because you are attempting to stop an addiction that is absolutely legal. Individuals who have successfully quit heroin are not able to quit smoking. Many years ago, famous John Lennon managed to kick quite a wide variety of legal and prohibited chemicals, but yet could not stop smoking. So, it is normal when you try to stop and find out that you can't quit smoking without cravings.
As you know that you are not able to quit smoking without cravings, then you can predict what to expect and can brace yourself for it. Remember that the cravings in and of themselves will not kill you. If you are suffering from a serious illness and need to stop smoking but are afraid of the withdrawal symptoms, talk to your doctor. But if you have moderately good health and want to quit smoking, you will live through the pain.
We Are Not Alone
Don’t expect to quit smoking without cravings. Expect them. Embrace them. They're letting your body recognise that the toxins are coming out of you. Try to look at them as signals that you are getting healthier. And keep yourself as distracted as possible. Although a lot of people can with success stop smoking cold turkey, many can not. Even reducing smoking is better than not trying to do anything for your health at all.
There are numerous internet sites, support groups and articles about persons who were going through what you are experiencing. You can find a lot of inspiration and good laughs from these resources. You may discover that you need to go on medication or nicotine replacement therapy in order to stop smoking. Do whatever it takes.
Keep away from any place where you know there will be a lot of smokers whenever possible. Just the sight of somebody smoking can be enough to break down the willpower of someone trying to stop. Try to exercise regularly and drink plenty of water to assist speed up the toxins and the cravings along. Make your hands occupied with crafts, cleaning or artwork. All of this can help you fight through nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
